Rules & Guidelines for Computing Reservations
Reservations

Art Office maintains first priority in scheduling classes. After that time, a new user id and password will be sent to all faculty so that they can schedule facilities for use.

The facilities are shared ones; therefore, no one should schedule all or even a majority of their classes in these rooms. Please only schedule times in advance that you are certain that you will need the facilities.

If another faculty member has reserved a spot that you deem critical for your teaching, it is appropriate to contact that person and see if an arrangement can be worked out.

Faculty must schedule events using a last name and course number.

Use Policies

SMART rooms are not intended to be used as a regularly scheduled classroom teaching space. For regular and ongoing computing demonstrations, please reserve a computer lab.

Teachers who use the labs for teaching will be asked to be responsible for changing a “CLASS IN SESSION” sign. They should be responsible for posting this sign on the exterior door of the room when teaching, and remove it when the session is complete.

Please inform an IT Staff member when you are beginning and ending a class. S/he will clear students out of the room for you.

For consistency, please don’t allow students to “crash” your class while in session if extra computer seats are available. When class begins, please ask an IT staff member to make an announcement.
